Chesterton SK and a New Start

Here's my progress with my handsome young man:

I completed page 2, and started page 3, YAY!

So.... the new start? Well, of course it's Pipsqueak!
I know I said no more new starts till I finish more wips, I know, I know... BUT I was so captivated with him, and I guess I talked about it so much that no one could stand me anymore. The HAED RAK Fairy dropped him in my inbox! Wowzers! Thank you a million times you naughty, wonderful Fairy! You already know all about him from my previous post so all that's left is to show you my progress. Here's where I am on the chart

I started in the center. You probably can't tell, but there are 5 different shades of blue in that little bit of stitching!

His stats:

I suppose you can figure out what I'll be working on for the rest of this week?

Hugs and Happy Stitching to you all!

Chesterton SK

Here he is prior to the SAL last week

And here he is after
Isn't he a handsome young man? I was wrong in last week's post, I have finished page 1, this is page 2 I'm working on now. I didn't ever realize it. I'm near the bottom of page 2 and the current week's SAL is "detail stitch", since I am in the really fussy area of the chart, I will continue with him.

On another note HAED is having a sale and there's also a coupon code so in the end you get about 40% off. That is huge! There was a new release on Friday and I have been captivated. Check this out (his name is Pipsqueak, artist Michele Lee Phelan)
(from the artist) Pipsqueak is a rare 'Draconus Lepus Leo'; a dragon chimera. He is a creature born of the artist's imagination - a blending of dragon, dragonfly, lion and rabbit. He stands no more than six inches in height, and is both loyal and loving. He has manifested in the 'Wisdoms of Gaia' Oracle as the 'Imagination' card.

I am crazy about this guy! Problem is, if I did purchase him, I would have to drop everything and start work on him. I really want to finish a few of my 10 HAED wips sometime this year. He's a big chart too, 400 X 565! and 90 colors.... I am torn.
What do you think? Should I just go for it?

Fargile Heart

The Freebie SAL was last week on the BB. Here's where I started with FH:

And here is the result after the week

As I said before I really want to keep up with the SAL this time around, would be nice to finish the first page before the second one comes out. I have yet to do that once in any Freebie SAL to date. We'll see what happens...

The SAL this week in SWIP/UFO, so I've gotten Chesterton SK out for the week. I still don't have the first page done on him yet, but I'm working on it!

Wishing you a great stitchy week!

Goblin Tree - Linda Ravenscroft - 5 Feb. 2011 Update

Here's the close up of my progress on Goblin. I'm working on finishing up page 13 and I've spilled over a bit into page 14.

This is the full picture of all my work so far. She doesn't fit into the scanner anymore, so I have to lie her out on a flat surface and take a picture with my camera, always hoping that the light will be right.
I still love working on her, just as much as the day I started. Even the background. There's always some little detail poping up, a tree branch, the turn of the streamer, etc.

This week's SAL on the HAED BB is the Freebie SAL. I've pulled out Fragile Heart. I hope to actually keep up with the SAL this time!

That's all for now. Keep warm!
