Best Friend after the QS SAL

Just a little more done on this one. that sky on the right has a lot of detail stitches! I'll be continuing work on this one over the weekend.

Any suggestions on how to finish the 'Mother' motif? I am no sewer so a pillow or sachet is out. Maybe I'll shop for a frame this weekend, something different.

Have a great wekend!

Look what came in the mail today! (and a finish)

My lovely friend Hazel made this for me! A biscornu! I just love it! And it's filled with lavender. Thank you Hazel!

I fixed the ornament (4 stitches out of place DOH!) and added the word Mother. I'm still not sure how to finish it for mother's day.

Damask Ornament

Here is the motif part finished. I am disappointed with the DMC varigated, I guess there just weren't enough stitches to show the varring colors.... Still need to decide how I'm going to finish it!

Best Friend, a little quickie, and new stash!

Not a whole lot accomplished on this one. It's 40 ct Newcastle and I'm stitching it 2 over 2. After spending so much time with Goblin stitching 1 over 1 on 28 ct., I think I'm hooked on over 1. It feels much easier and quicker to me. Maybe it's just me... Anyway, this is my progress after last week's Quick Stitch SAL. I'm going to stick to this for a bit and see if it will flow a little better for me.

This is a little Damask Ornie I found in The Cross Stitcher-June 2007, designer De Selby. It's on Silkweaver Remembrance Rose 32 ct. Belfast Linen, DMC 107 2 over 2. I am not going to make an ornament out of it. I am thinking about stitching "Mother" below it and framing it for my MIL for Mother's Day. I'm not sure. I have to see it done and then I'll think about how to finish it.

And Finally for today, NEW STASH!!!! Check out these gorgeous silks from Carrie's Creation! Wowzers! I started looking at her site when I decided that I want to stitch Bouquet for Cheryl and I read on the Ink Circles site that Carrie had created a floss especially for Cheryl Miller. It's Lumiere de Cheryl, the second one in from the right. Is it not fabulous!!!? I have to play with fabric now to get it just right! I don't know what I will be using the others for, but I'm sure something will pop up!

2007 Goal Part One Complete!

One of my 2 goals for 2007 was to complete 4 pages of Goblin Tree. Well, I did it this weekend during the April HAED Weekend SAL! Happy dancing around the room! Here it is with pages 1, 5, 9 & 10 completed!
Stats so far: Chart is 20 pages, 130,500 total stitches.
30,355 stitches complete, or 23.26%.

The second part of my 2007 goal is to finsh ACEO Best Friend, Molly Harrison. This is a kind of quick stitch. ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". For more info on them look here. The chart has a total of 6 pages, 31,950 stitches total. Here's where I last left off on it, in August of 2006.

Easter Creature SAL!

Yep, can you believe it? Just the cutiest thing! Here's the rules:
Work on any HAED chart that has a creature (including trolls, dragons etc) in it. The SAL starts Thursday, April 5 (today!) and ends Tuesday, April 10.

So of course I'm in with Goblin *SNAP*. My before picture is my last post.

Also, I saw this on Thutmosis's Thoughts Blog and thought I would pitch in.
" It is our chance to let the needlework industry know what we want and need from our retailers:

Here's the link: Needleworkers Survey "

I have completed the survey and it didn't take long at all.

More Goblin

Well I never did start CDC. I think Goblin has cast a spell over me! This is page 1 of the chart almost finished.
